Fire

You see the need to snatch the innocent from the gates of hell
Within your own rights you cannot protect from harm or cannot tell
You don’t know how to find compassion to pierce their hardened shell
“If I were you, I would do”…your words on deaf ears does not compel
At times you find your passion to get up where you fell
One has to love another first before true love can heal
Hidden deep within your heart you desire a true love to reveal
Your loyal ways to reach the heart of another soul to feel
And to experience the strength of your backbone made of steel
This love you have it does not live through the passion you foretell
Reason’s to find your guttural fortitude may not exist until
First offered to the author of fire, therein His power does dwell
