Next to a mountain, a runner’s path inset

Close to the running creek, there I went

On my morning trot “I needed something different”

Endorphins going faster than my little strut

Swerved to the left, I tried a short cut

Trying to make good time, I was in the thicket

I crossed off of my course like a speeding bullet

Big hungry mosquitoes made me their target

Without my compass on my bracelet

I made another winding conduit

Swerving and swinging I slapped at a hornet

I turned around to meet Mother Nature’s palette

To find my footsteps; to guide me like a puppet

Meet myself coming where once I was in transit

Tired and alone unable to articulate

I lost my way and was too stubborn to see it

I weaved through the trees; so hot I could vomit

Tasting my sweat as it dripped on my pallet

Pretending to do well, I became affluent

I belted out loud, words of encouragement

I need to believe in a miracle; not just a rant

“Thank You” out loud became my chant

I never need to see again where I went

Next time I jog; I will feel content

Fate sent an Angel, put my soul in transit

I found my way, this was heaven sent

This is another survivor, let us all applaud

Look how much you overcame, by your faith in God

You were abused by the devious, rejected and depraved

You removed yourself from a weary mess, after you forgave

Your choice has made you a sturdy kind of fellow

You looked death in the face as if it was your rainbow

A brilliant way to bounce back after being in the ghetto

Share with us your excellence, how you turned your fate

You don’t need to say a word, your eyes will persuade

You emanate with peace, you are not afraid

You found your hero within; now that you are saved

You are abrasive to the enemy, encouragement to the brave

We shy away with a hurting heart that is spurned

Tangled up in gestures filth, we were warned

We write silky words delicious to our soul

We think ourselves to be acceptable and noble

We satisfy our hearts by writing of our foible

Our self righteous sanctity feels a little horrible

As we go through the motions with a little mumble

Impressed for the moment our pride abandoned

Self sufficient and sanctimonious is our life’s pattern

Blinded by our selfishness we are unconcerned

Swearing never to open our self or be concerned

Remember the words that crippled us, this we learned

We single handedly get what we have earned

Our canine ways respond to ill will returned

I saw magnificence; a sunset talk

While the sky moved the light away

My faith was like God’s cross walk

Origination, in heaven’s stay

Love searches the intent of my heart

Our thoughts blended with lights array

Captivated with this hidden clock

My words found peace in this sun ray

My belly floods; my emotions unlock

I find faith within, the power to say

My God, Help us learn to think and talk

As the sky blends clouds; messages out lay

Believe for compassion from a healing God

To see this mystery of life and to bear dismay

Justice breaths through me; this micro dot

Until I melded with the sky today

Our Father touch our world’s epoch

With word’s that fulfill your will, I pray

Your hope and faith and love be taught

Through willing hearts; you’re straight away

I thank you for this wonderful gawk

I trust your truth intervenes this way

People change their pros as news forecast flashes

Time changes speculation and dirt turns from ashes

“Our god reigns” echoes’ through the ages

He who is and was and is to come within the heart arises
